Design and Build
Unlike any other candybar smartphone the Lenovo Vibe X2 has a colourful striped exterior thus giving the phone a candybar like look. Lenovo has gone with a different design making the phone quite a head-turner. The unibody slim and flat body does has one sour spot though, you won't be able to easily pick up the phone from a flat surface, like from a table for instance. Overall, we liked the design, it has a certain sweetness to it.

The Lenovo Vibe X2 is definitely a new design but the flat candybar design is not easy to hold and the edges do dig into your palms. The back of the phone has three contact points and with that the phone can connect to additional accessories like the battery case or the JBL speaker case. The phone is handsomely built and we are satisfied with the sturdy build quality of the phone, even though the phone does look like a bendable candybar.

Display and UI
Let’s move on from the candy references to the 5-inch screen 1080p screen which we liked. The display on the smartphone reproduces vivid colours and has good viewing angles. The 1080p screen is complemented by thin bezels which add to a better viewing experience. There are slight visibility issues with the screen under direct sunlight but not so much that it would require you to squint, but the same can’t be said about the dimly lit navigation keys at the bottom of the screen.

The custom UI on the Lenovo Vibe X2 may please some people but an Android phone without an App Drawer may also come across as a misstep. This doesn't mean that the UI is inferior to the stock Google UI in any way, it just feels unnecessary, and the same goes for the bloatware on the phone. Some included nifty features like ‘take a picture from the black screen by double tapping the home button’ or ‘answer the phone by simply by raising the device near to your ear’ are neat and work as intended

Camera
The 13 MP camera on the Lenovo Vibe X2 is simple to use and good at what it does. It comes with optional grid lines and advanced settings. The pictures taken by the camera were good but were on the cooler side of the color palette. 1080p video quality of the phone is satisfactory but were oversaturated in ambient lighting conditions. The front-facing 5MP camera is passable at best and would do the job for you for an occasionally selfie.

Bottomline
Lenovo has taken a different approach with its Vibe X2 on the design front with its layered design, making it quite different from an orthodox candybar smartphone. The phone has a good screen, a good camera, a custom UI which tries desperately to look like iOS which we won’t crib about and a powerful Mediatek chip, but the deal breaker here is below average battery life in which the processor plays the main culprit. It looks like the phone has the brawns as well as the brains but could have done better with a bigger battery. The Lumia 630 is the first Windows Phone 8.1 handset to hit the Indian market. Dubbed as Cyan update by Nokia, the new software comes with a more flexible Start Screen. Users can now set custom background that slides below the transparent tiles.

                        

 

Windows Phone platform is known for its originality. Be it the Start Screen or calendar layout, these elements have been built from the scratch. However, following Apple’s footsteps, Microsoft too has now copied Android's notification centre. On 512 MB RAM, Android can be almost unusable, but WP runs perfectly fine. I didn't encounter any stutter while switching between the apps, and latest games including Asphalt 8 worked fine. You will miss-out on top-end games such as Modern Combat 4 and Spider Man 2 that require 1 GB RAM. If you're a gamer, you should stretch your budget by a few grand and go for the Moto G.

GPS Navigation
If you travel a lot, the Lumia 630 can be your ideal companion. Nokia's HERE Drive+ software lets you download map data for an entire country as well as for individual states. For instance, you can install the India (All) map, which is 950 MB in size, or opt for the Maharashtra/Goa map, that fits into 198 MB. You can avail free voice-guided navigation in offline mode. Multimedia
The Lumia 630 comes with MixRadio subscription that offers free downloads for three months. The FM radio has also been duly covered. One things worth mentioning here is the insanely loud onboard speaker. Coming to the subject of video playback, the 630 can handle Full HD MP4, WMV, and AVI files without any issue. The default video player now supports subtitles. One annoyance here is that software navigation keys remain visible during the video playback. After hours of experimenting, I found out that there’s no option to hide the navigation bar. Come on Microsoft, how can you miss out on this detail?

Telephone And Messaging
The first dual-SIM (dual-standby) Windows Phone offers elaborate settings. For instance, you can choose SIM for data connection. Dialler and compose message screens give access to SIM switch button, so that you can change the SIM anytime you want.

                       

 

The 630 features ‘Word Flow Keyboard’ that lets you type quickly with swipe action. It's pretty much like the SWYPE for Android. Then, there are handy options to block unwanted calls and mute SMS from certain contacts. Last, but not the least, the device's call quality and signal reception is great.

Battery Life
The Lumia 630 ships with an 1830 mAH battery. In our HD video loop test, it lasted for over 6 hours. Under normal usage, I was changing charging the battery on a second day. However, I mostly use Wi-Fi for data. Those using 3G will probably have to change charge this phone every day.

Verdict
The Lumia 630 delivers excellent smartphone experience. Windows Phone 8.1 is fast, fluid, and smart. Considering its price tag, the handset is incredibly well built. You'd be forgiven to think that the phone costs around Rs 15,000. The screen isn't very sharp, but does a good job at producing colours. The phone doesn't support Candy Crush Saga, but you get useful apps such as Microsoft Office Suite, HERE Drive +, and Mix Radio.
If you're looking for smooth and sophisticated smartphone experience, go for the 630.

There are few things that destroy your Android's battery more than anything else, and most of them are common to all devices, not just a specific smartphone. If you're suffering from a tired smartphone after half a day then take a seat, pull out your notebooks and pay attention!

Display brightness

No surprises here (at least I hope there's not!): your device's screen is the biggest juice sucker there is. And the higher the brightness setting the worse the problem.
